With workshops, games, bazaars, photo booths, and fashion shows.

さまざまなワークショップ、ゲーム、フォトブーズ、ファッションショー。

In a space filled with cute, whimsical, and wonderful things

キュートで、愛おしく、素敵な物の数々で埋め尽くされたスペース

We just wanted to have a place where kawaii lovers could just freely be themselves.

Kawaii lover のみんなが、自由に、自分らしくいられる場所を作りたかった。。

Where they can don colorful wigs and eyeball barrettes

Without fear of judging eyes.

他人からどう思われるかを恐れずに。。

Nothing but the warmth of a welcoming, tight-knit community

We were uncertain. But we had to try.

分からない。けれどやるしかなかった。

After the encouraging success of the Kawaii in Manila workshop last September 2013, we set to work.

2013年9月の「the Kawaii in Manila workshop」の成功を受けて、私たちは動き出した。

By March, we already had our initial plans. The groundwork was built, and we only had to follow it through.

3月までには最初の計画が出来上がった。動き出す準備が完了し、あとは最後までやりきるだけになった。

There were so many things to be done. We had nothing but big dreams and high hopes for Kawaii in Manila 2.

多くのやるべきことがあった。何よりも支えになったのはKawaii in Manila 2.の成功への大きな夢と希望だった。

We wanted everyone to know about this kawaii convention.

We couldn’t wait for everyone to know that we are creating this space of expression, freedom, and fun – right here at the heart of Metro Manila.

このイベントをすべての人に知ってもらいたかった。メトロマニラの中心で、自分を自由に楽しく、表現できる場所を創っていることを伝えたくて、、待ち切れなかった。

We wanted to share this convention with everyone – from the fashionably loud youngster on the street to the little girl sewing frilly dresses in her small corner of a bedroom.

このイベントをみんなと共有したい。ファッショナブルな服装に身を包み、ストリートで目立っている若者から、部屋の片隅でスカートのフリルを縫いこんでいる小さな少女まで

Whether you’ve got the guts to flaunt your love for kawaii, or you’ve been keeping it inside because the rest of the world doesn’t seem to understand – Kawaii in Manila 2 was meant for everyone.

カワイイへの愛をみんなに見せたい人、他人は自分のことを理解してくれないと思い、気持ちを心の中に閉じ込める人、Kawaii in Manila 2はすべての人のためにありたい。

We took to social media to rouse up every kawaii girl and boy.

We know and believe that Manila has long been ready for this. And it’s finally happening.

ソーシャルメディアを立ち上げ、カワイイラバー達に呼びかけた。機は熟していた。ついにそのときがきた。

Not all things were as easy as we wanted them to be, but we had optimism in our hearts and positivity in our pockets.

And with the overflowing support of family and friends, both real and online, we slowly but surely took our steps to make it happen.

直接助けをくれた人、オンライン上から協力してくれた人、溢れるほどのサポートを家族や友人たちから受け、ゆっくりと、しかし着実に夢の実現に向けて一歩一歩進んでいった。

Whitespace Manila.

From an expected attendance of 500 people, 1,500 came together for a whole day of fun, fashion, art, music, dancing, and dreams.

当初は500人程度の参加を見込んでいたが、ふたを開けてみれば1日で1500人を超える人が集まってくれた。ファッション、アート、音楽、ダンス、そして夢、一日中楽しさに溢れたこの日のために。

Far beyond the name “Kawaii in Manila”, people from Baguio, Batangas, Cebu, even Singapore and Japan, traveled all the way to Makati to share in this unique experience.

カワイイin マニラは、マニラという名前を超え、バギオ、バタンガス、セブ、そしてシンガポールや日本からもこのユニークな体験を共有するために多くの人がはるばる来てくれた。

Both girls and boys were all lined up at the entrance, and everyone was looking their best.

入り口で列を作っているそれぞれの顔は最高に輝いていた。

Platforms, tutu skirts, pastel wigs, and randoserus abound.

厚底のサンダル、チュチュスカート、パステルカラーのウィッグ、ランドセルなどなど、いっぱい

It was like seeing the pages of FRUiTS, Zipper, or Kera coming to life!

まるでFRUiTSや Zipper, Keraのページが現実になっているのを見ているよう。

This proves that our love for kawaii cannot be contained or determined by age, status, gender, or location.

これは私たちのカワイイへの愛情が抑えることのできないもので、年齢や地位、性別や国籍によって決められるものではないことを証明している

In Kawaii in Manila 2, we had countless of kawaii booths in our Kawaii Bazaar

カワイイバザールの中の数え切れないブーズ。

Filled with items that are whimsical, cool. There’s bound to be something for everyone.

愛おしい、クールなアイテムがいっぱい。誰もが自分のお気に入りに出会うことができた。

Kawaii musician Reese Lansangan opened the event with some of her original songs.

She sang about trophy boys, adventures, and the universe, among other things.

We had a Kawaii Art Exhibit – featuring works from fantastic illustrators that contributed all over the Philippines.

We had international artists who participated as well!

カワイイアートの展示。フィリピンの多くのすばらしいイラストレーターたちの作品を紹介した。

In one corner of the vast kawaii playground, we held mini kawaii workshops.

Everyone was encouraged to work with their hands to make beautiful polymer clay creations and practice their lettering.

会場の一角のミニワークショップのコーナー。多くの人がポリマークレイを使った創作やレタリングを楽しんだ。

Resident kawaii photographer Chai Mungcal spent the whole day roaming around to snap up everyone’s most interesting kawaii looks!

カワイイチーム専属のカメラマンChai Mungcal。参加者それぞれの最もカワイイ姿を納めるために奔走した。

The Lucy Pop photobooth allowed the girls to have their pictures snapped wearing Lucypop uniforms! Lines were kept long the entire day, filled with girls waiting for the chance to be a school girl for a few minutes.

ルーシーポップのフォトブーズでは、ルーシーポップの制服を着て撮影をすることが出来た。

The wildly popular Kawaii Girl and Ikemen Guy contest went down, as well!

カワイイガール、イケメンガイコンテストも行われた。

From their amazing costumes, to their show of talent, to the question and answer portion – all the contestants garnered the applause and approval of everyone.

すばらしいコスチュームから、自己PR、Q&Aセッションに至るまで、すべての参加者が会場から大きな拍手を受け、受け入れられていた。

The Fujifilm Instax booth outside was a huge hit, especially among the younger crowd. After getting your polaroids, you can head over to the decorating table and adorn your snaps with washi tape and markers.

富士フィルムInstaxブースは、特に若者に大評判。テーブルで和紙のテープやマーカーを使ってインスタント写真の飾り付けをすることが出来た。

We were privileged enough to witness live how Rian Gonzales of Rianbow creates her art from start to finish! The final artwork was breathtaking, and everybody pooled together by the stage to witness the finished product.

Rian Gonzalesがアートを完成する全工程を生で見ることができた。

完成した作品は息を呑むすばらしさで、みなステージの近くに集まり作品を鑑賞していた。

Possibly one of the most anticipated events of the whole convention: the kawaii fashion shows! Brands such as Dollykaye, Dorotee Sweetlips, Forestale, and La Princesse Doll all came together to give us a visual feast of a show!

おそらく最も期待されたものの一つ、それはカワイイ・ファッションショー。「Dollykaye」,「 Dorotee Sweetlips」, 「Forestale」,「 La Princesse Doll」などのブランドが結集し、私たちの目を楽しませてくれた。

Lucy Pop, one of the go-to Japanese brands for school uniforms, showcased their latest collection by getting a bunch of our kawaii girls together. Most of them were modeling for the first time ever, but the girls’ enthusiasm and high energy did not make it seem so at all!

代表的な日本の学校制服ブランドの一つルーシーポップはカワイイガールをモデルに最新コレクションを披露してくれた。彼女たちのほとんどはモデル経験がなかったが、熱意と高いエネルギーによって、そのことを全く感じさせなかった。

Arranged by Ashley Dy of Candy Kawaii Lover, the Harajuku fashion show was really, really special.

Arigatou to Misato-san of FUNKTIQUE Tokyo, JOSIAH CHUA, Lactose Intoler-Art by Brandon Reierson, Kinsella Tokyo, PUNK CAKE, and PIN NAP Harajuku.

For the first time, it brought together noteworthy brands straight from Harajuku in a unique and unforgettable runway show. It’s such a treat to actually see the many funky fashion pieces from Japan to actually make it to the Philippine shores! A huge thank you to Ashley Dy for making this possible for Kawaii in Manila 2!

原宿の有名ブランドが、ユニークで記憶に残るランウェイショーの中で一堂に会した。

As the afternoon was drawing to a close, Kaila Ocampo and Anne Kate Pinero (Kawaii PH founders) both give touching and heartfelt speeches about changing the world with kawaii. Tears of joy were shed as they expressed being so overwhelmed by the amazing support that Kawaii PH got, not just from Manila but from all over the world as well.

午後が閉会の時間へと近づき、Kaila OcampoとAnne Kate Pinero（カワイイフィリピンの創設者）の二人が、カワイイが世界を変えつつあることについて、感動的な、心のこもったスピーチがあった。カワイイフィリピンが、マニラからだけではなく、世界中から大きなサポートを受けたことに心を打たれ、嬉し涙を流した。

Every effort, frustration, and tear along the road all became worth it, seeing this huge crowd of people smiling from ear to ear because of the joy of kawaii.

目の前の多くの人が、カワイイに触れて喜んでいる姿を見て、これまでのすべての努力、苦労涙が報われた気がした。
